The Potential of CO2-Reduction from Household Consumption by Product- Service Systems – A Reflection from SusProNet

This paper discusses the potential of CO2-reduction from household consumption by ProductService Systems. It will first discuss the main direct and indirect impacts of consumption by households. This will result in a number of priority ‘need areas’ or ‘functions’ where changes in consumption patters and ways of need fulfilment can have the highest contributions to impact reduction. After that, in part based on the experiences in SusProNet, we will analyse to what extent fulfilling needs via PSS rather than products is a promising strategy for reducing impacts in these need areas.
